Firefox 4.0: Why does the picture of the day on Bing not display? Another site that pops up a graphic (not in a new window) also does not work.

Firefox 4.0 no longer displays the Bing photo (www.bing.com) of the day. I believe it worked when I first installed 4.0. The copyright symbol in the lower right corner is displayed, but the photo is not. Works fine in IE, so probably not a bing.com issue.

Another site that no longer works properly is linked below.

Check: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Website_colors_are_wrong

See:

  • You can see the permissions for the domain in the current tab in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
  • You can see all exceptions in Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions
  • You can check the Tools > Page Info > Media tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images)

There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block images.

I changed nothing and now both of those sites work. I think there is an intermittent bug in 4.0.

If it happens again then try to reload that web page and bypass the cache with:

  • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
