Remember Sync but not prompt for Password
I keep FF Sync on four different systems. In order not to re-enter the Account and Recovery Key each time I launch FF, I understand I have to have Password unchecked in Preferences->Privacy->Clear History->Settings.
However I NEVER allow FF to save my passwords, and it is quite tiresome to be prompted every time I enter a new website.
Is there a way I can stop FF from prompting me for password saving and still keep my Sync settings?
(I have this issue on multiple platforms. All are updated to the latest.)

I think you are taking about unrelated preferences.
there is Preferences...>Security> Passwords ->> this is for websites
there is this Preferences...>Privacy> History >>this is for the cache
Firefox sync password is linked when you enter it once. What settings do you not want synced? This can be managed from the device from Preferences...> Sync
Can you please confirm if you do not want the passwords saved for websites across all devices? That is the Preferences and Password boxes in the Sync menu. (keep in mind these are separate and may be what you are looking for? )
Guigs2,
Thank you for your reply. I am going on the OP's answer to his/her own question here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/688784
I found that this procedure does prevent the Sync account information from being lost when FF closes, it consistently works on different platforms.
Quote: "Open Firefox. Click on Tools-->Options-->Privacy. You probably have "Clear History when Firefox closes" checked. Click on "Settings". Under "Data", un-check "Saved Passwords". Click "Ok" twice and re-start Firefox.
This should prevent your Firefox Sync username and password from being cleared each time your re-start Firefox."
Yes, I do NOT want passwords saved for websites. I only want the Sync account and secret saved. I never discussed what FF settings I want/do not want synced. Only the Sync account itself.
