Copying/Backing up Profile without email data
I see the lots of info about moving a Profile to another computer or backing it up. That seems fine. However, they all including backing up the email data along with the Profile setup, which I don't want to do (due to email data being so large in many cases).
I see all my email data is in a folder called "ImapMail" within the Profile folder. Is it possible to backup the Profile and just exclude that folder? I mean, if the Profile is transferred to another system, won't the email just be downloaded again? Or will it not work that way?
Thanks.

That should work. You can verify it by - exit TB - rename or delete the folders in the imapmail\<accountname> folder - restart TB an see folders recreated
Another option would be to relocate the account to a different location, such as the C:\ root folder. Then, you could back up the profile and the account would not be there. You could do that by clicking 'server settings' for the account, click the bottom line and select an empty folder elsewhere on your PC for the account. exit and restart thunderbird and the account will reappear. You can then delete from within the profile. With that approach, your profile could be backed up and would not have the data in it.

Thanks David that did it.
Yes, I just copied the entire profile to another computer, without the ImapMail folder. I copied the contents of the profile folder, not the actual folder name with the random characters as the name (because it was a different name on the other computer). I removed all the contents of the profile folder on the 2nd computer before I coped the data of course. After I did that and opened TB on the 2nd computer, it automatically created the ImapMail folder in the profile and started downloading all the email in the 3 email accounts I had set up.
Just a side note, if you have a signature file, don't forget to bring that over too if it's in a different location than the profile folder, which I had to do.
Thanks again.
Thanks for the update. That was quite creative on your part. :)
