I recently upgraded to Firefox 3.6 from 3.0 and noticed that the dropdown menu of the location bar behaves differently. Previously bookmarks in this list showed the star marker and had a different background color (the later was by a modification in the usercss). In Firefox 3.6 both of them are only visible while typing a new URL and suggestions are shown. If I just open the dropdown menu all entries look the same. Can the old behaviour be restored?

Hello Dennis.

You'll need to check your customized CSS to make it support the new element. Because that seems like a new element was created for the dropdown.

Thanks for the answer. But only the different background color was by the customized CSS, the star symbols showing in the dropdown were default behaviour. Also, it seems that just the "type" attribute is no longer valid in the dropdown menu. To explain, I used ".autocomplete-richlistitem[[type="bookmark"]" to recolor dropdown entries that were also bookmarks. This no longer works. Without the "[[type="bookmark"]" part it still recolor dropdown entries, but then all of them. Thus, I suppose the new filtering introduced in FF3.5 removed this.

To add to my previous post (sorry about the double post, but as unregistered poster I cannot edit previous posts): I checked with the DOM Inspector and it seems as if when using the dropdown menu the afore mentioned "type" is always set to "favicon". Only when using the autocomplete feature of the location bar, the type is correctly set to "bookmark", ... .

I'm not sure whether this is a bug or a feature.
