Is there a Pop-up for free products attached to 4.0.1 download?
This morning after downloading\installing FF 4.0.1, I restarted and got a pop-up tellinmg me I had won a free Membership to MyLife.com, a $100 WalMart gift card or a free iPad. Since I hadn't even had my first coffee, and it really LOOKED legit on clicked on "Free iPad" and filled in the name, address, etc and phone number. Clicked "Continue" and a page came up asking me, in a red message, to re-input my cell-phone number. Did that and another page popped up, again with red message asking for cell-number, but at the bottom of this page in grey type that almost fades into the background, was a message about agreeing to terms and being charged $9.99 per month for (something). At that point figured if it looks too good to be true ... So, real or scam? Hate to thing that we have to scan our homepage before logging in EVERY TIME. Isn't the site up to its usual standards of security anymore? Really, if we can't trust Mozilla and FFR, who can we trust. If it was just due to my lack of coffee, ( and attention), then shame on me. If it was REAL ... extra shame on me; but if it was a scam or Phishing, shame on Mozilla\Firefox.

That is not from Mozilla, it looks like a scam.
To ensure your computer is not infected with malware try running several malware scanners. It is best to run several as each will pick up things that the others miss. Some scanners you can try are:
- Malwarebytes - http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
- SuperAntiSpyware - http://www.superantispyware.com
- Ad-Aware - http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php
- Windows Defender - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/defender/default.mspx
- Spybot S&D - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html
Thanx, mon, I'm using Threatfire and PCTools Internet Security Suite, both GREAT. Luckily, nothing got thru other than that first page; I woke up before it got that far. Have scaned for Malware and viruses since, and everything is OK. Seemed legit at first, cause it snuck in on the coattails of Firefox update. No more internet before coffee in the A.M.! Thanks for your concern and help!
