Why does Firefox flash a previously browsed site when I close the browser window?

more options

After browsing to several different sites, I click on the X to close Firefox, and a previously browsed site flashes on the screen for a split second. This doesn't seem to happen every time, but it does happen alot. For example: 1)I Double-click to open Firefox from desktop 2)Start private browsing 3)Browse several different sites with different tabs (amazon, facebook, yahoo, youtube, etc; some with embedded video, some that open quicktime video in a new tab, etc.) 4)Close all tabs, except the main one 5)Click on the home button 6)End private browsing 7)Clear recent history (all boxes checked) 8)Close the browsing window 9)At this point as the browser is closing, a screenshot of one of the previously browsed pages flashes on the screen (this happens really fast, but enough that I can tell it was one of the pages I had browsed). My understanding of the private browsing feature on Firefox was that it didn't keep a history. Why would this happen if Firefox isn't tracking my history in private browsing? There doesn't seem to be any negative effects resulting from this. Also, sometimes (while private browsing) I can use the Back button, and sometimes I can't. This leads me to believe that there maybe an issue with the private browsing sometimes keeping a history.

Try disabling hardware acceleration. Many visual bugs can be attributed to issues with graphics drivers.

(Firefox -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> [ ] Use hardware acceleration when available)
