Cant update to 4. Error message "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items."
Ever since I got my new Mac Mini, I have not been able to download the new versions of FireFox. I always get an error message of some sort just trying to move the file into the applications folder. Here is my Hardware Overview:
Model Name: Mac mini Model Identifier: Macmini3,1 Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 2.26 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache: 3 MB Memory: 2 GB
Today, when I tried to replace the old FireFox in the applications folder, I got this message: Error message "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items."

If you get an error message that you do not have sufficient permissions or if you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
- Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
- Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
- Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.
I cannot seem to be able to trash the old FireFox. What is the procedure?
What happens if you drag the current Firefox application to the trash?
