Hi - I have this problem too. It was working fine for about 1 week (I upgraded to version 11). Then all of sudden this week, every download has 1 sec to go.
I have a temporary workaround, close Firefox at the 1sec mark, and then reopen, the download is saved and not lost.
but it means only able to download 1 thing at a time and lots of closing and reopening the download
so I think a reinstall is not the answer.
any other ideas?
It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
See "Disable virus scanning in Firefox preferences - Windows"
thankyou cor-el. i dont think it is that. as just checked, and sophos does not seem to be running... i scan periodically and scan files after dl.
its only happening on some sites. i just got 2 dl from another site and it was ok then I went back to the site ive been dl most of week, and it happened again.
that site has not changed. i cannot remember the other sites I was at, when it started to happen.
thanks for trying to help me. much appreciated.
I just had a thought I dl adblock plus add on, for firefox. maybe something in there... is causing this... not to finish the last 1 sec...
I cannot work how to turn that add on off. that is what I will try and work out next.
You can try to create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
