You can change the cookie expire settings from "ask me every time" to "Keep until: I close Firefox"

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"

There are also extensions that allow more precise cookie management.
You can search the Add-ons site to find one that suits you.

Yes I did the clear when I close Fire Fox and that works but I would like to know what happened to the 'Ask Me Every Time" option. Why did it fail?
