Can I safely delete very old cache files, some very large?
Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\Terry\372zwh1t.slt\Cache
has 84 files, all dated 6/12/2009. One of them, _CACHE_003_, is 1972Kb. Other large ones are _CACHE_002_, _CACHE_001_. That date is about the time Best Buy's Geek Squad salvaged my dead hard drive and recreated everything on a new drive. Can I safely shutdown Firefox 18.0.1 and then use Windows Explorer to delete this \Cache folder or, at least all the 6/12/2009 files in that folder?
I also have June 2009 cache files in Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\uj841r8m.slt\Cache: _CACHE_001_, _CACHE_002_, _CACHE_003_, _CACHE_MAP_. Same question: may I delete them?
Thank you.
Terry

Deleting your cache shouldn't mess anything up. Cache files are files saved to your computer by websites (usually to keep you logged in for multiple sessions). It may also increase the performance of your browser :)
Profiles with a .slt file extension are profiles from a Mozilla Suite or SeaMonkey profile and you can remove such a profile if you aren't using those applications anymore.
