Note that if you switch on PB mode then existing history isn't removed. In PB mode only new history isn't stored in the profile folder, existing history still shows in the History Manager and you need to remove this yourself.

Hi, sorry was not as expected. I would think a file or your Profile has become corrupted and is why your setting to never remember is not remembered.

If you would please : try a Refresh but Note that this does more than uninstalling and re-installing does. Normal uninstalling does not remove some preferences which may have become corrupt. Please Refresh but do this 1st:

then

TEST....... If no issues then Extensions which need to be added back in 1 at a time and tested ..... Or it is your Profile : Make a new one and test ...:

If is your Profile :

Note: Any customization will revert back to default, you will also need to reinstall Extensions.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Hi anon125, when you set Firefox to "Never remember history", Firefox changes from starting up in a normal session (windows not private unless you specifically launch a private window) to starting up in a private session (all windows private). When you using automatic private browsing, new history from private sessions won't be saved, but you can still see your history left over from regular sessions. You can't clear regular session history from a private session. To clear it, you'll need to change the setting back, clear your history, then switch it again.

thanks all. when software is poorly designed it is easier to say it does not work because a file is corrupted
