When accessing Google pages with Fennec I tend to be redirected to either the desktop formatted version or the mobile version.

Google provides Android compatible touch-screen optimised versions of many of it's web services such as search, mail and the RSS application Reader, at present Fennec directs to the desktop or basic mobile versions of the sites rather than the superior in function/usability Android versions.

Becoming compatible with the Android versions of Google pages should be a priority for the Fennec team.

Fennec already works with some of the iPhone- or Android-optimized versions of Google sites, such as Google Reader. To access the Android version of Reader in Fennec, go to: http://www.google.com/reader/i/

It's now up to web site operators like Google to test their mobile sites and automatically serve appropriate versions to Fennec users. Until they do, you can also use the "Phony" add-on to access some iPhone- or Android-optimized sites: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/addon/162014/

I'm using Firefox 4.0 b4 on a HTC Desire with Android 2.2. Even with Phony 2.0 installed and either iPhone or Android selected, Google sites like Gmail, Reader, or Calendar are not shown in their optimized mobile versions but the simplified and poor looking versions.

As both the stock browser and Dolphin Mini/HD automatically show the nice optimized mobile versions, there is something wrong with Firefox which needs to be fixed.

This is my main issue when using Firefox which is why I still use Dolphin Mini as default browser.
