I know it has been mentioned, but in simple steps, please tell me where the bookmark etc profiles go in Windows 7
I have copies of the bookmarks, passwords, etc ready to put on the new computer with Windows 7 but they put things in different places than the other Windows. So where do these files go?

Profile is a folder which store all your personal data in a safe place

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
Thank you for the information. This was quick and easy enough, but I don't see any change in the bookmarks or passwords. And to think I'm a 30+ year computer user. This is getting too complex and I have more trouble than I used to. I think my brain is full and new info comes in my ears or eyes and dribbles back out.
After the profile folder is opened, exit Firefox. For the bookmarks and history you have to overwrite the places.sqlite file in this folder with the same file from the backup. For the passwords it would be key3.db + signons.sqlite. More about these and other important files here.
