I have many, many missing items, in fact. The only two things on it are the back and forward arrows. I've tried out all the steps listed in the existing Firefox article called "Back and forward or other toolbar items are missing", up to and including restarting in safe mode but clicking on "reset toolbars and controls" (which is the mode I'm posting from right now), but nothing's worked so far, and I've still got the same problem with just having the back and forward arrows in my navigation toolbar. Help!

I didn't have that file on my HD, but I did notice that after restarting my computer and reloading Firefox, I found some new icons to the right of the URL in the address box. After making a minor adjustment to the icons, "Reload" and "Stop" appeared. Hooray!

Did you find the Firefox Profile Folder?

I did. I even made a wide-sweeping search of all files on my computer to check if it wasn't hiding somewhere else. But I didn't find the potentially problematic file. It just took rebooting my computer and loading up FF again to discover the hidden icons. I think some of the new plugin updates required that to stop being so temperamental.
