Unable to download the Adobe flash plugin properly.

I recently uninstalled flash player from my control panel > Uninstall a program, as I was having trouble playing some youtube videos (seemingly at random, some videos wouldn't play correctly. Audio would be fine, but video would just be a green screen or something more multi-colored. Yet others would play just fine. This happened after I played Knights of the Old Republic II, so that might have something to do with it).

I figured, of course, that I would simply reinstall them and see if that helped the problem. Funnily enough, it DID. After uninstalling flash player I found that I could play the videos that would just have been green screened before (an example of one such video that was formerly green-screened but was fine after uninstalling flash player: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRDfjl1ocGk&feature=g-u-u&context=G215c928FUAAAAAAADAA ). But obviously many videos also do not play without flash player.

The rub came when I was attempting to reinstall flash player (for the record, the problem was also occurring with Internet Explorer, so I uninstalled my ActiveX version of flash player as well as Firefox's plugin). going to, say, youtube.com and clicking "Install Missing plugins". Things go fine until I get to the Plugin Licenses part. Rather than a license to agree to, I simply see this:

Incorrect webmail URL. Please check the URL and try again. Thank you.

Attempting to agree anyway and clicking next just ends up with the installation failing. All right. I click manual install, go and download flash player manually. And it seems to go fine, it says I have successfully downloaded flash player. My control panel > uninstall programs agrees, stating quite clearly that "Adobe flash player plugin 64-bit" is on my list of programs.

Yet, when I go back to youtube.com, I keep getting notifications that I need to download flash player. Attempting to watch a video that requires it ends in failure (though, again, I funnily enough can watch some of the videos that green-screened earlier like that one linked above). This isn't just a Firefox problem, as Internet explorer is having the same issues. My programs clearly state I have the ActiveX version of 64-bit flash player 11, yet when I go to youtube.com on Internet explorer I am told I need to download flash player and cannot watch videos that require it.

So, there's my issue. Do you think I should go try and track down some sort of community forum or some sort of support from adobe itself? Is there any potential solution to this that you lot know? Looking at my plugins under add-ons manager shows that I don't have flash player, but my programs in "uninstall programs" says I do. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox itself. I confess I'm at a loss.

Actually, I think it may have had something to do with the fact that I actually restarted my computer.
