Hello, I uninstalled, reinstalled... when I click on tools-add ons or try to start in safe mode nothing happens. Most common I've discovered are a couple of websites when I click on a link, nothing happens. In the bottom left I did notice a 'java script' message. My java plugins are current, I even added site as ok for pop ups. This example is from: http://www.siriusxm.com/mlbschedule from there when I click on 'Print This Schedule', nothing happens where this has worked in the past. In another website, when I click on a link that usually open the 'Downloads' box with a 'PDF' file in it, nothing happens.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Howard

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
