It said the certificate was expired. I opened a new window with the same pop up where the add exception button was available, and copied the other url to add the exception. It said there was no need to add an exception because it already had a valid certificate. My time and date is correct on my computer. I cleared EVERYTHING. cache, cookies, browsing history..... I renamed my cert8 file to cert8.old. Dont really know what I was doing there, but I followed directions. NOTHING is working to make the site work. I know the certificate is good and not expired; other people I know are using it. I even restarted my computer hoping it just needed updates.

Is this a problem on only one site ? which one ?

Check the date and time in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.

It is on a facebook application. (a game.) I'm not addicted to it, but I'm frustrated that I've spent so much time on it and now I can't access it.

My time is date is correct. I even changed it by one minute and changed it back to make sure.

Try to rename the cert8.db file in the Firefox profile folder to cert8.db.old or delete the cert8.db file to remove intermediate certificates that Firefox has stored if you can't identify the currently stored intermediate certificate in the Certificate Manager that is causing the problem.

If that helped to solve the problem then you can remove the renamed cert8.db.old file.
Otherwise you can rename (or copy) the cert8.db.old file to cert8.db to restore the previous intermediate certificates.
Firefox will automatically store intermediate certificates when you visit websites that send such a certificate.

If that didn't help then remove or rename secmod.db (secmod.db.old) as well.

Neither of those things helped either. I both renamed and removed both .db files.
