When I'm on the Scottrade site, after a while, the site will ask you to acknowledge with an OK dialogue box or it logs you off for security purposes. I noticed since the last Firefox update before v.37, the dialogue box on the Scottrade site does not appear but instead Firefox crashes.

What is causing this?

I do not know, however we're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

There are a large number of bugs that are contributing to this signature as a top crash cause and there are current investigations happening.

However, since there is a specific site and it certainly reproducible let's make sure its not due to the current profile.

Please try the following.

  1. Close Firefox and open it from the cmd.exe with the Profile Manager-> Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles
  2. Click to create a new profile and visit the scotstrade site with a fresh login (no add ons or changes)

The next steps would be to create a bug from one of the reports with this url: http://goo.gl/csNBph and add the steps that you took to reproduce it, including an example url if possible.

thanks for responding....after some investigation I think I identified the problem, or at least one of them. I use Noscript as an add-on, and after disabling it, the scottrade site is operating normally. I will wait for an update from noscript, firefox, etc. then try again in lieu of the profile deletion and recreation. For now.
