why does it take so long to get messages and then to delete them if want ?
When getting home at end of day I bring up email messages sent to me, perhaps 20-40 and sometimes it takes 1 minute before they begin to come in, but the trying issue is when I go through them and wish to delete them, each can take 10-20 seconds each before it will delete, which is not too bad if only one, but 10-20 seconds each for 20-40 IS A LONG TIME. Can I correct this in some manner ?

Have you compacted your inbox? and emptied your trash? Is emails still on server and deleted there?
What is your anti-virus software?
