The Shockwave Player has already been discontinued April 9, 2019 https://helpx.adobe.com/shockwave/shockwave-end-of-life-faq.html and Adobe is completely ending all support of their Flash Player (old name Shockwave Flash) at end of 2020.

Most websites have since transitioned to using say HTML5 for video, audio and even games in the last few years which also makes for more cross platform of devices compared to the limited Flash support of devices.

It looks like game developers need to replace all their Flash games with HTML5-based games by Dec. 31st according to Facebook:

Zynga has announced that FarmVille will shut down.

However, I didn't find an announcement about Words with Friends, so that suggests they plan to keep it going. Cross your fingers!
