firefox corrupts uploads
That about says it. When I upload a filename.xls file to Yahoo Groups. When it is downloaded by anyone, including me, the file is corrupt. Hex?
I can upload the file with Internet Explorer and that works fine. I can upload with Google Chrome and that works fine. I haven't tried Opera yet, but I feel very confident that will work also.
Firefox 12.0 Windows XP SP3

Hello hashky,
I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with the Firefox uploads. You should refer to the following question article for possible fixes to your issue: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/750882?s=firefox+corrup+upload&r=25&e=es&as=s There seems to be many different answers that worked for many people as well as a little description of the bug. It might be possible that there is a new bug with Google Docs, but it isn't much likely as we would have heard about it a lot.
Thank you for your valuable time and your patience. Let me know how it goes and please mark this answer as solution if you found it helpful.
That was not even remotely related to my problem. Firefox converts an .xls file to something that cannot be read by Microsoft Excel. This has happened in the last 2 weeks.
Firefox opens the file instead of downloading. When I click on File Save Page as and save the file, it is corrupt.
Firefox is broke!!!
Internet Explorer and Chrome will both upload the file. As I said Firefox is broke. This is recent.
Hello hashky,
apologies for the inaccurate and unrelated answer sent earlier regarding your issue. It seems like I mixed up Yahoo! and Google. Now that the situation is less confusing to me, I think that I can help you resolve the problem.
First of all, please take a look at the following support articles for further troubleshooting of the problem:
- manage file types
- [change file type settings]
- [clear your cookies and cache]
- [restart firefox in safe mode]
- [reset your firefox settings]
- [make a new profile]
- [reinstall firefox]
This should normally fix everything and you shouldn't even need to make a new profile or reinstall Firefox.
If you still require assistance or have any more inquiries regarding this matter, please write a reply below and I will get to you as soon as possible. If you found this answer helpful, please mark it as solution.
Thank you for your valuable time and your great patience, and all your interest in Mozilla Firefox. Surf safe and have a great day!
