my firefox will not let me go to facebook, google search or youtube. been this way for about six weeks. have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. any ideas?
I still cannot get to Google to search. This problem exists and has NOT been fixed.
I still cannot get to Facebook. This problem exists and has NOT been fixed.
I still cannot get to YouTube. This problem exists and has NOT been fixed.
I still cannot use Firefox with confidence. At first the problem showed up as invalid security certificates at each and every site I tried to go to, even the Mozilla site for support. I had the Geek squad to work on my laptop and they determined that it had been infected by ad ware with a virus that was redirecting every site that I was going to. to their site, and that was the source of the invalid certificates.
But even after they removed the ad ware, I still have the issues with Firefox. I have been a Firefox user since the days of Netscape 1.0. It has always been my preferred browser. I hope the issues can be resolved.
I have just reinstalled Firefox in an attempt to use it for the problems listed above. This has not helped.
Any suggestions?

Check the date and time in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.
You can check the connection settings.

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.
See "Firefox connection settings":
Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
