I don't know Safari, but see if this works; <Safari may have different tools>
Copy Bookmarks
Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Then select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control>(Mac:<Command>)<Shift> B. Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Export Bookmarks To HTML, and follow the prompts and save it to a HTML file. Copy the file to another computer. Repeat the instructions above, BUT select Import Bookmarks From HTML,
The OP explicitly asked about importing passwords, so directions about importing bookmarks won't help.

Ouch . . . . Sorry.
Not to worry - thank you anyway
The firefox "file" tab does not contain an inport option ???
That should read IMPORT
You can find "Import Data from Another Browser" under "Import & Backup" in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)
- Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import Data from Another Browser
