hello ThePres, you could try this "hack" to get a new firefox version to connect to an old sync account: enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up), right-click somewhere in that page & create a new string preference named services.sync.usernamewith a value like fake.

afterwards you should be able to connect to the old account through the firefox options > sync panel. if this worked and you could import your data successfully, please migrate to the new sync afterwards: Sync your Firefox bookmarks, history, passwords and more

This may not work (Firefox sync is not a backup system so this will probably fail) but it's worth a try:

• Download Firefox 28 from ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/28.0/win32/en-US/ (Do not use this for anything other than recovering your sync account, it is not secure and should not be used on the internet)
• Connect to Firefox Sync, download your data.
• Update to Firefox 33.1.1 (Update Firefox to the latest release)
• Update to the new Firefox Sync, Sync your Firefox bookmarks, history, passwords and more

Glad it worked! Make sure you update to Firefox 33.1.1 and then update to the new sync so you don't have to jump through hoops again in the future.
