Just received a message I was hacked by Syrian Electronic Army (SEA), should I be concerned?
Was on Optimum email and saw message, then the screen had an emblem with an Eagle. Anything I can do to minimize any data being compromised?

Hello,
If this is an email, it could be a scam. You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- ESET Online Scanner
You can try running scans with the above programs to make sure that your computer hasn't been compromised. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Hello orchidsyn, definitely do CoryMH's steps above, see also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syrian_Electronic_Army
thank you
If you still have the message, check and send a message to the e-mail provider of the sender.
I just read the news, apparently the SEA hacked a bunch of sites today just to show a message/redirect people to their site:
Don't know if any personal information was stolen by them - you would need to contact the affected sites and ask.
