You want to disable cookies for particular websites, or for all websites? You definitely will find that some websites don't work if you don't allow them to set cookies, but if you want to test it out, you can use the Privacy panel of the Options dialog. See this article for more information: Settings for privacy, browsing history and do-not-track.

To access the Options dialog, you can use either:

  • "3-bar" menu button on the right end of the main toolbar
  • Tools menu (tap the Alt key to show the classic menu bar temporarily if you do not normally display it)

Now... if the real problem is that you don't like starting up with AOL and prefer to use a different home page, you could check your home page setting here:

You can use the Home button on the main toolbar, or launch a new window (Ctrl+n) to test your home page setting.

If Firefox ignores your setting, one of your add-ons may be overriding it. You can disable unwanted, nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then on the right side, if in doubt, disable.

Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Does that help you regain control of your home page?
