Often I can't see the 'action' square or button on a website and have to resort (ugh) to Internet Explorer - what's the fix?

Many website evidently tailor their content to Internet Explorer rules, as I can't see many of the 'action' squares or buttons on the site with Firefox. Then I have to open Internet Explorer (which I hate) in order to get to where I want to go or do. Is there a fix for this. Thanks so much for your consideration

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : Override the colors specified by the page with my selections above

Try "Never" if the default "Only with High Contrast themes" isn't working.

This setting affects background images.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
