Where is the gear button?

more options

I want to opt out of receiving "suggested sites" when I open a new tab. According to the pop-up that presented when I opened a new tab on my new computer, I must click the gear button to access the option to turn off this so-called service. Where is it, since it's not under the menu icon? It shouldn't be this difficult. It makes me suspect you are intentionally making it hard to opt out of this intrusion. Please clarify. Thanks.

There's a picture of the gear and its location in this article: Customize your New Tab page to hide or display content. That's a Mac toolbar pictured there above it, but the location should be the same, in the upper right corner of the page itself, not on the toolbar. Can you find it there?

For reference, here's a Windows 7 screen shot. When the gear is not active, it's gray.

Thank you very much! The difficulty arose from the fact that the gear button was not visible on my first New Tab, where the pop-up information appeared. I wanted to address it immediately but had to open another New Tab to do so. I appreciate your help!

Oh, so the "tour" panel telling you to look for it was blocking it? Not good. Someone should fix that!
