I'm using Thunderbird, I believe the latest version (cannot check), on a Windows 7 PC.

I use Thunderbird for my email every day, with no problems until now. Today, I opened to the Thunderbird start screen (before entering the inbox or other folders) and could not access the actual e-mails in my inbox. No matter what I clicked, it just sits on that screen. I was able to access my inbox by right-clicking the inbox and opening it as a new tab. I cannot open the options or help menus, clicking them just does nothing. I cannot open a new message, it behaves the same as the menus (does nothing). For whatever reason, I can still open the "Accounts" menu. I've closed and re-opened Thunderbird, and I've shut down and restarted my computer, and this problem continues. Can anyone help????

Chosen solution

Sounds like what some other users are seeing

1. open tools | addons | extensions and remove Lightning/calendar addon 1a. if you can't get to addons, then start thunderbird in safe mode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode and try again) 1b. if you still can't get to addons, reinstall thunderbird from http://getthunderbird.com/ 2. restart thunderbird 3. reinstall Lightning/calendar addon - if you need the functionality

Does that help?
