I want to enable I/D and password for a website that FF used to remember.
When FF upgraded to v. 45 I no longer get the I/D and password for a site I use a lot. FF used to save both, and I'd like to enable it for this site. All other sites get saved, but not this one.

Do you see that user name and password in the Password Manager?
- Tools > Options > Security: Logins: "Saved Logins" > "Show Passwords"
A detail like a website remembering you (log you in automatically) is stored in a cookie.
You can use these steps to make a website recognize and remember you:
- You can create a cookie" "Allow" exception to keep specific cookies, especially in case of secure websites and when cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
- Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: Exceptions
In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" or otherwise clear history.
- do not clear the Cookies
- do not clear the Site Preferences
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/remove-recent-browsing-search-and-download-history
- clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exception for password and other website specific data
- clearing cookies will remove all selected cookies including cookies with an Allow exception you may want to keep
There are other things that need attention.
The System Details List shows that you have multiple Flash plugins.
- Shockwave Flash 11.7 r700
- Shockwave Flash 21.0 r0
You can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page.
You can check the Flash player installation folder for multiple Flash player plugins and remove older version(s) of the plugin (NPSWF32) and possibly (re)install the latest Flash player.

Really appreciate your quick reply. However, I do not have a password cookie for "https://webtrade.rjobrien.com/access/" . And I can't find the "Use custom settings for history">Cookies:Exceptions which you mention.. not in my FF 45. I can get to "Privacy", but not the "Use custom ... " you mention below. What am I missing??
" You can create a cookie" "Allow" exception to keep specific cookies, especially in case of secure websites and when cookies expire when Firefox is closed. Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: Exceptions "
If you do not see the history and cookie settings, but instead see "Remember History" then click this button to open the drop-down list.
- about:preferences#privacy
History : "Use custom settings for history" - about:preferences#security
Logins: "Saved Logins"
Also make sure that you aren't in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History)
Thanks again, but this site does not appear in the listings. I'm thinking the site itself has prevented cookies for my user and password, and FF will not be able to enable saving them. The "webtrade... " site required me to increase the PW length from what it was for many years. That must be why I cannot get FF to ask if I want the user and PW saved. Sound right?
You can inspect cookies and passwords for the domain in the currently selected tab.
- click the "Site Identity Button" (globe/padlock) at the left end of the location/address bar
- click the arrow to expand the security message
- click "More Information" to open "Tools > Page Info"
- click "Permissions" to inspect and modify permissions
- click "Security" to inspect and modify cookies and passwords in a standalone window
- click "View Cookies" in "Tools > Page Info > Security" to inspect the cookies for the domain in the currently selected tab
- click "View Saved Passwords" in "Tools > Page Info > Security" to inspect the passwords for the domain in the currently selected tab
Thanks again. I attach a print screen which shows I have no saved password for the site... and no apparent way to save them in what is said to be an encrypted site. This site now appears to prevent FF from asking for permission to save the user and Pw. Seem so to you also??
