Error with my account
The following message appears when I want to download my emails: This POP3 server does not seem to support encrypted passwords. If you have just set up this account, please try changing to 'Password, transmitted insecurely' as the 'Authentication method' in the 'Account Settings | Server settings'. If it used to work and now suddenly fails, this is a common scenario how someone could steal your password.
Chosen solution
If your provider does not support encrypted passwords then you can not have the server setting set to use that. Change it to normal password and see if it works.
