How to remove a browser highjack of my default Google one?
My Android Tablet default browser has changed from Google to something called SmartDrone.com/ and I seem to recall that there was a way to remove such browser highjacks from within Firefox's own settings toolkit, but I need a reminder of exactly which drop-down menu selection will get it done.
Chosen solution
Is that a page or search engine opening inside Firefox, or a completely different app?
If it's a problem inside Firefox:
You can remove unwanted add-ons, change your default search engine, and fix your home page using the steps in the following articles:
- Uninstall Firefox for Android extensions
- Manage my default search engines in Firefox for Android
- Change the Homepage to a specific page
If it's a completely different app:
Please see this article: Make Firefox the default browser on Android.
After that, I would remove the other app completely, and consider using security software to block installation of questionable apps.
Does that help?
