This didn't solve it. The password for the account was removed but it's not prompting for a new one.

It's not a password issue because I can use the webmail interface as well as an IMAP interface. But, POP stopped working.

I traced it back to my antivirus SW/ Working on those settings now. But, now that I know what's causing it, I'll figure it out.

Please advise what A/V software (including version) and what rules were changed once you get it so this ticket may be used as

1) kb (knowledge base) ping-back 2) dev team can work on preventing such things in future talking with the A/V team to figure out what behavior or file attribute triggered the action

Is there anything in Norton's logs as to what or why Email scanning suddenly triggered a full nuclear response to Thunderbird? If so, or not sure please sanitize confidential / personal details and share those pls.

Nothing in the log for email errors

Anything more broadly for a file type or blacklist or quarantine for tbird then ? Anything that sticks out related to emails, any possible attachments or file extensions or Tbird at all?

more options

Nothing in the logs related to T-bird except allowing Thunderbird to access network resources.

Can you sanitize any sensitive data from that and share please that may very well be a new networking /firewall rule that was getting in the way.

Firewall rules were updated at 7:30 this morning (and again this afternoon). Hmmmm. I currently have the firewall on but inbound email scanning off to get it to work.

Can't seem to cut and paste frpm Norton log but there are 2 entries (posted at the same time):
