Change the letter and name of the folder and the filename and its format of each screenshot taken with Firefox. Examples: Folder: Q:\betaragas File format: yyyymmdd_hhmmss_topic_web-page-name Example: 20180712_210036_questions_support.mozilla.org_

The name might be the name of the web page I would like a variable which lets me set the maximum size of the file name.

Thanks to everyone who replied, and to you, jscher2000, for having suggested the link https://github.com/mozilla-services/screenshots/issues where I discovered three similar requests, posted this year, which are marked as enhancements. I will wait.

Hi, know idea. You have malformed the URL you had in your question or was that a example of something.

Thank you for your question. I gave an example only in the hopes that an expert understand me.

Hi antiguo, unfortunately there's no way to modify how the Firefox Screenshots add-on names files, although that would be a nice feature.

The project has a page where they are taking suggestions on Github:

https://github.com/mozilla-services/screenshots/issues

I'm actually not sure how they would implement an Options screen; maybe you will end up needing to use a different extension.

Hmm, actually this might be a similar idea -- it was long so I didn't read through it in full: https://github.com/mozilla-services/screenshots/issues/4444

Okay, now I read it and added a brief note.

Hi WestEnd, click on the three horizontal dots that are found in the URL box. It produces a drop-down box where the Screenshot option can be found at its bottom. An alternative is to right-click the mouse on the active page. In the context menu it can be found towards the bottom.

Thanks, jscher2000, the above link formalizes my question and contains more options than I thought about. It is good knowing that other people need something similar.

It is not a solution, but a step in the right direction. I will be checking "yes" below hoping that it will not be interpreted as "solved".

jscher, hello again! I am using Greenshot since it permits redirection of the output and choices to form the filename. But Screenshot makes it easier and faster to select sections or all of the visible page, or the entire page including the invisible part or a section thereof (a vertical slice).

If you would save the screenshot file to a folder on your computer then you would have to make sure to convert/remove characters that are illegal in a file name and maybe replace the '.' in a domain by dashes (-) and paths would be a problem. Even when saving to the screenshot website there could be issues with long paths.
