I get a warning if I close multiple tabs in Firefox *except* if it's the last window. I've already tried setting all of these to true, and there was no change: browser.showQuitWarning browser.tabs.warnOnClose browser.tabs.warnOnCloseOtherTabs browser.warnOnQuit

You could check the value of this preference :

browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab

It's set to "true"

It's set to "true"

Would you change the value to "false"  ?

(don't forget to close and restart Firefox, in order for the change to take effect)

I tried that and I'm still experiencing the issue.

Actually it is not a issue, it is the standard behaviour for 1 tab.

It doesn't have to be a problem :

By default, when Firefox starts, a single window is opened, displaying your specified home page. If you wish, you can configure Firefox to open all windows and tabs from your previous session :

3-bar menu (or Tools) => Options => General => under 'Startup':

check 'Restore previous session'.

Note that Firefox won't warn when you use "Restore Previous Session", so if you currently use this choice then select another.

As the OP says :

" warning if I close multiple tabs in Firefox *except* if it's the last window "

I assume that the "Restore Previous Session" is unchecked.

'Suggesting to check it as an option to get previous session back, even after closing the last window inadvertently.

I do have "restore previous session" checked, but it has always warned me on the last window even with that option checked. This behavior is new after an update.

If this is just how Firefox functions now, then I would suggest it's a bug rather than by design. Why would one thing negate the other? I want to restore my session and I want to be warned when closing multiple tabs.

In response to pkshadow - there were multiple tabs open, not just one.

You get the warning, in case you'd accidentally close all windows/tabs and lose your previous session.

When you check "Restore previous session" you won't need the warning.

I think it's weird that you had the option checked and yet got the warning - I have no explanation for it.
