thumbnail image missing in list of tabs
Firefox recently updated automatically to release 63.0 (32 bit). On the "list all tabs" pulldown many of the thumbnail imaged that have been there previously are missing. Why ?
PS, since the previous update the "list of tabs" presents the last screenful rather than as previously the first screenful. I prefer the previous arrangement as it allows me to get back to the first tab really quickly. Is this arrangement configurable ? If so its not obvious where
Chosen solution
I haven't researched the reason for the change related to the icons in Firefox 63. However, once you activate/load that restored tab and the icon is stored again, it sticks, at least for the ones I've tested so far.
The old "All Tabs" list didn't have a physical scrollbar, there was a "these are the currently visible tabs" indicator on the right side. So this list has changed a lot from the old days.

Do you mean the little site icon on the left side of the tab title? Firefox doesn't show some (most?) old site icons on restored tabs until they have been restored/loaded at least once in Firefox 63. the tab just expands the title, and the All Tabs list shows a generic globe icon.
(My All Tabs list doesn't show web page thumbnails.)

Oh, wow, you must have a lot of tabs open in that window. I tend to have multiple separate windows with no more tabs than will fit on the "All Tabs" list, so I haven't noticed this issue.
When I sit on Ctrl+t for a while to fill the window with numerous new tabs, I see what you mean. As I click around and activate different tabs, the "All Tabs" list seems to show that bolded tab title in as central a position on the list as possible. So that explains why, if you are using a tab toward the end of the tab bar, the list is scrolled to the bottom.
Is there a way to change that? I'm not aware of any settings for the list, but perhaps another support volunteer with have an idea.
Keyboard navigation on the list has changed a bit when the real scrollbar. To get to the first item of the list, after you tap the Home key, you need to press the Down Arrow key to move the cursor from the Undo Close tab button into the list itself.
Re the little icons/thumbnails. If in Rel 63 they are only loaded when the tab us used after the upgrade then this is a retrograde step in my view.
Yes plenty of tabs ... but I've seen nothing on the Firefox documentation that describes a limit so in theory its infinite or limited purely by available resources.
Thanks for the tip re getting to the top but its as its a release to release incompatibilty I'm surprised it isn't configurable. I can see the case for it being either as it was or now implemented but I personally find it more useful for my use of Firefox as in pe Rel 63. Sorry if that upsets the developer that thought otherwise.
Despite these niggles Firefox remains my preferred browser, has been for years.
