UTF-16 message received by Thunderbird displayed garbled
Is Thunderbird supposed to be correctly interpreting UTF-16 messages?
I have the following non-multipart HTML message in UTF-16 and it shows up garbled:
Relevant headers:
X-Mailer: SAP NetWeaver 750 Content-Type: text/html; charset="utf-16le" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
Start of body:
=FF=FE<=00h=00t=00m=00l=00>=00<=00h=00e=00a=00d=00>=00<=00s=00t=00y=00l=00e= =00 =00t=00y=00p=00e=00=3D=00=22=00t=00e=00x=00t=00/=00c=00s=00s=00=22=00>=
Is this bug 997050 ?

if it is not mime, why does it have the mime header? Of cource it is mime encoded.
Now as to the encoding. Some bugs that might shed light.

I meant of course: it's not multipart, argh, corrected
I see, 5-15 year old bugs. Well. Guess I'll have to tell the SAP guys to either send UTF-8 or it remains garbled.
