email messages from Mozilla
When I open the email window I receive a message saying that deleted messages can be purged from the disk. Are there any snags/problems with this or is it as straightforward as it seems

Compacting permanently removes messages that have been deleted and removed from view, but still occupy space in the profile folder. It is a normal and helpful process, but bear in mind that the messages removed this way cannot be recovered.

Many thanks. Sometimes there are hidden pitfalls that aren't apparent until done and then the dreadful result isn't what was expected.
