Hi all, a couple of weeks ago my Thunderbird on our laptop updated automatically (to 102.3.0 64 bit). When I opened it both left hand message/folders pane and the main message pane were completely blank, nothing. The emails were still there, if I did a search for them I found them, but both panes showed nothing.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, same result. No idea how to fix this now.

Today Thunderbird on my desktop updated (to 102.4.0 64 bit) and I've got the exact same issue, both panes blank, absolutely nothing showing at all. It downloads emails but I just can't see them, or my folders.

If I look at update history I see "The update could not be installed (patch apply failed)

As I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling already on the laptop I thought I'd ask here first, no idea what else to try. The laptop isn't so much of an issue as we use it rarely but the desktop is our daily use so that is an issue.

Thanks

Anyone? I'm a little desperate here, I've lost all my emails.

Hi there Wayne and thanks. I've tried troubleshooting mode and not got anywhere, I'm not an expert user but I haven't found any answers there. I may have missed something though.

Currently trying to set up Outlook, it's all just got too hard on Thunderbird now, after using it since about day 1. Shame as I prefer Thunderbird, much easier to use, but quite useless for me now. Cheers

I have managed to download an old version and load from a backup, but I've lost a couple of months of emails. The main worry with an old version thought is that it's got old security. I've turned off automatic updates but then I'm not getting the security updates, and these days I think that's quite important, so I don't want to just continue using an old version
