I have Firefox 118.1.0. I am unable to access file:///data/data/org.mozilla.firefox/files/mozilla/ in the browser's address bar. How would I access this? I wanted the bookmarks file.

Hi

Firefox for Android does not give access to the underlying file system of your Android device.

To access that file, you would need to "root" your device, which is strongly not recommended and is likely to lead to data loss.

I did not mean to access it in an Android file explorer. I saw this on Reddit and Mozilla. The posts said to type this URL file:///data/data/org.mozilla.firefox/files/mozilla/ into Firefox's address bar. When I do that, the page is blank.

Here is the Mozilla post: https://discourse.mozilla.org/t/where-are-add-ons-located-in-android/55764

Hi

That was relevant to a much older version of Firefox for Android. It is not possible to do that now without having first rooted your device, which is not recommended.

Okay. I just wanted a backup copy of my places.sqlite file. I do not want to root my phone.

Best way is to sync you data to a desktop copy of Firefox and the back up data from there.

Thank you. I'll try that.
