I am sure that this is a 'known issue' but, when I attempted to update the browser just now, it failed and directed me to install it manually.

Is there a time estimate when this glitch will be fixed?

Try refreshing Firefox using this guide: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings Or if this doesn’t help, then completely delete it and download it to these guides: 1.https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/uninstall-firefox-from-your-computer 2.https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-install-firefox-windows If this did not help, then third-party Antivirus programs could intervene. If they are, disable them and try updating Firefox. But if all else fails, then just reinstall Windows...
