Error message for gmail or google calendar (using Windows8 Pro desktop):

"The page isn't redirecting properly. Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."

Please note the following: 1. Google Drive and Maps load properly and display personalized info, suggesting they are not having problems with missing cookies (cookies are fully functional on my Firefox browser). 2. Google Finance, which has no personal info for me, as far as I know, also loads properly. 3. No problems with non-google sites. 4. I don't use, nor do I have any intention to use Windows8 Metro. Desktop only, for me.

I had tried these maneuvers, as they have been previously reported in this forum, but they did not work. However, manually clearing the cache and deleting all cookies available from firefox menu has restored functionality. BTW, since I also have Chrome on my system, I don't think the cookies are really gone! Go figure....

Thank you. But as I said, my problem is resolved without further action. Please be aware that Firefox 17 is the ONLY browser I have every tried that gives this error with google. Does that mean, perhaps, that there is a bug in Firefox 17 that should be corrected?

Again, thanks for your help.
