Never had this problem until V19 [and I don't want V20 yet--no Norton toolbar] I open about 10 tab and it chokes up. [used to have 20 tabs open] Cannot play any game or puzzle because it locks up.

hello, for general advice on this error please refer to Firefox hangs or is not responding - How to fix.

please also note that norton has already released an update that makes its toolbar compatible with firefox 20: https://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Toolbar-Norton-Identity/Firefox-20-amp-Google-Chrome-26-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/td-p/937023

Many thanks. I might just try V20, but first need a bottle of wine, nothing on TV, and at least two free hours to get the NTB. Twice, over the years of FF upgrades, I had to contact norton and they did it remotely.

For reasons that defy description, I cannot get the NTB from the norton site. Their scan says they cannot find any norton product on this machine, so would I like to buy one?

Norton tech supp says it's because I have the comcast version of norton, so norton will not recognize it. Go figure. [I've had norton 10 years]

BTW: this has happened on every FF upgrade FF from way back V7.

It requires about ten reboots [no kidding] and about 20 "live updates" [NO Kidding] I do have it down to about two hours, but still need the wine.

Nothing on TV tonight, so will give it a try. I have NTB 2013.1.3, but need ver 2013.3.4.3. Should be easy to get--but it's not.

more: when I try the links to the latest NTB, I have the same problem--there is no norton product on this machine--would I like to buy one? It has to be done manually.

I gave up [even with the wine] use the norton tools--uninstalled NSS and installed new [per norton tech] ran updates, took 230mb of updates, over and over,. Gave up; and tried the comcast NSS--even worse. It installed all kinds of junk and toolbars.

During this entire 3.75 hour process, had to reboot 27 times. [no exaggeration--I counted them]

Ran norton live update over 50 times. Every time it would add something [more reboots] Last five updates, it says "Up to date--nothing required"

Gave up and removed, then restalled FF V 19.

When I had the same issue between V17 and 18, I contacted norton and he used the remote, not believing it could be so difficult. He was online with me over three hours--I didn't even count the times he rebooted. He even went into the registry and made about 50 line item changes.

I swore i would never try to update FF again, but hey, the wine was good.

At the end of all this effort, I still had NTB 2013-3.1.3 that does not work with FF20
