Firefox crashes
Firefox refuses to open. I had a similar problem a few weeks ago but it went away after a reboot (or two?) Firesfox is now refusing to start. I only get the crash reporter. This is the same in safe mode.
I don't know if this helps but it is from the latest report:
Crash ID: bp-89954b00-9faa-4baa-be0a-e33312150619

By the way, just in case anyone wants to know, I sorted it myself by (re?)installing the latest version. Thankfully it didn't lose all my settings. I felt lucky! Been fine since.

Here are the latest five of such report Crash IDs: bp-89954b00-9faa-4baa-be0a-e33312150619 bp-c76b662d-b930-4791-b1fe-86b8f2150619 bp-b2f197d8-7258-465a-bebd-33d8d2150619 bp-14c45426-5aba-474f-9bdd-2e48b2150619 bp-9318041b-a520-486a-8e19-4a5992150619
How you geniuses can make anything out from these I find baffling (but admirable!) :)
Try to create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
Hi - thanks for the quick response - I'll try that now.
Hmmm the Profile Manager won't start either - it brings up the crash reporter with the following Crash ID: bp-a454ed02-498d-4bc0-b320-d55562150619 bp-332540b1-ed47-40e0-a72c-479032150619 (I tried twice)
Is there another way to create a new profile?
