I just reinstalled windows8. When saving a photo from an incoming email. I save it and paste it on my desktop. I cant open it. a box comes up saying windows cannot open the file. Noe it gived me two choices. 1. Search on line for programs that will open the file. 2.Use the default windows service. Neither one does any thing. If I right click the file on the desktop, and try "open with" I get the same message. I tried to attach the file to this document and receive a message that said "Error uploading Invalid or no image received".

Matt, Thanks for your help, When I read your response I started to go over everything again. What I found was, the picture in the email would not open, but when I went to another email and saved the picture, it opened without a problem. I believe the problem was in the original email file, it may have be damaged in some way. Everything seems to be working at this time. Again thanks for taking the time to help. Paul G

How did you save the image? Right click save as?

What shows in the file type box? What happens is you explicitly set the file type to say JPEG
