Where can I find more icons to associate with my desktop shortcuts?
Hi all -
I'm using FF 50.1.0 and I would like to know how I can change my default desktop shortcut icons to something more meaningful. By default, there is only a choice among 5 or so and they are very boring, IMHO. Does Mozilla have a library of icons which can be easily integrated into FF, so I can categorize my desktop shortcuts more appropriately?
TIA!

Hi
I recommend having a look at one or more add-ons that might be able to help with that. You might find some suitable ones here.
Are you talking about internet shortcuts that are created by dragging a tab or control center 'i' button to the desktop?
You can try to toggle browser.shell.shortcutFavicons on the about:config page.

thank you
Thanks for the replies!
It's really quite simple.
I just want a larger library of built-in icons to associate with the desktop shortcut. The defaults that Mozilla provides are just too simple for me.
Take a look at the attached graphic.
Happy New Year!
For a link to a specific website you can consider to use the site's favicon.

I've been having trouble creating desktop shortcuts as well. Most sites have the "connection is not secure". When I click and drag the "i" I do get a shortcut for the website, however, it only gives me the FF icon or else I get a teeny tiny website icon that I can barely see inside the white box.
My question: how do I create shortcuts to websites for my desktop AND get the websites actual favicon to completely fill the shortcut box?
And, will this work well even though the "connection is not secure" message is displaying? If not, is there a fix or workaround?
Thx

Please look at my graphic in the above post. Is there an "icon library" that I can import?
Does anyone know exactly where the default icons are placed? Maybe I can add to that folder.
TIA
