Firefox latest broken?
Firefox automated update breaks it. After it is broken, downloaded Firefox compressed file firefox-64.0.tar.bz2 twice. Extracted to Downloads directory. Wouldn't run after extraction and running Firefox binary. Twice. Downloaded. Extracted. Wouldn't run. Broken. From the directory of the extracted binary, tried to run the firefox binary from a terminal. Native Mozilla Iceweasel runs instead. The following is the output: knoppix@Microknoppix:~/Downloads/firefox$ firefox (process:4452): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion `sys_page_size == 0' failed FoxyProxy settingsDir: /home/knoppix/.mozilla/firefox/lllxrd8r.default-1529708858245/foxyproxy.xml I have Knoppix 7.2.0 in perfect health. Before automatic update, firefox used to run. Tor browser based on Firefox runs. Google Chrome based on Firefox runs. Everything else runs. This is for your information. Sent messages to forum and community. No response.

No, it is not broken. My Knoppix 7.2.0 is too old to run the latest firefox. I tested with Ubuntu and it works. But one problem remains. The use of mouse to select text, then "right click" to copy, doesn't work. It works elsewhere such gedit or leafpad in my system. Any help please? Regards, Rajib
Most of the needed system requirements for recent versions like Firefox 64.0 for Linux is listed at https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/64.0/system-requirements/
Knoppix 7.20 is indeed old as it was released back on June 27, 2013 and depending on the degree of package updates it got since it may not have the package versions needed.
The normal ways to highlight copy to clipboard on Linux.
You can highlight and then right-click and select Copy. Then you can right-click and Paste. You can also highlight and then use middle-click to paste as it will be a separate clipboard. Or you can highlight and Ctrl+C and the Ctrl+V to paste.

Depending on the version of Tor browser you have it could be based on the Firefox 60 ESR or even the EOL Firefox 52 ESR or older ESR version branch.
Google Chrome is most certainly not based on the Firefox web browser.

Thank you, Mr. James, for replying. After highlighting the selected text, as I right-click on the selected text, the selection goes away. This is only on the webpages. But the same continues to work on "Webpage Text Editing Windows", the Search- or Address-Bars. Highlighting+RightClick+Copy works on this present support/forum. Doesn't work on wikipedia. Work on some, doesn't work on others.
Regarding my posting queries and your observations:
... This thread was the only thing you posted on the support.mozilla.org forum with the bkpsusmitaa account ...
I had sent a query to "Forum" and "Community" from my Home ⟶Messages on 12/15/18, 1:41 AM and 12/15/18, 1:52 AM.
And your observation:... Google Chrome is most certainly not based on the Firefox web browser. ...I observed it from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Chrome#Development and perhaps other places.
However, these portions are for clarification only and serves no other purpose. Better to ignore these.
Thanks once more for responding to my queries.
Regards
