So, what authentication are you using? Please post screenshot of Thunderbird pane for incoming server and for smtp server.

If the problem is on input, then you need to post specifics for input server. And this is a gmail account? And you're using mail.outlook.com for smtp server? Has this setup ever worked? If so, what may have caused it to stop?

I cannot recieve or send emails on rmattern@telus.net. I have had this account since telus started email, latley google has been contacting me to open an account which I have done. Telus turned there email over to gmail 2 years ago, I have had various problems since then.

I am a little confused about the messages David, I tried to answer your email, Is it better to reply here? Thanks alot for your help Rick Mattern

I double checked the information I sent you it was incorect, it should be server type -- IMAP Mail server server name -- imap.gmail.com User Name -- rmattern@telus.net

Sorry about that. I could not find information about inbound mail. Thanks Rick

You have never provided all the info. A screen shot of input server settings and one of SMTP server settings would be a good start. I get confused when you mention both Gmail and Outlook for what appears to be the same account.

Hi David thanks for getting back. I send and recieve my email on the personel computer. I have a cell phone and I can take screen shots with it. I did try a print screen but that did not work This is the latest info I have on that account (rmattern@ telus.net)

server type -- IMAP Mail server server name -- imap.gmail.com User Name -- rmattern@telus.net

If this helps

Description:---Google Mail Server Name:---smtp.gmail.com Port:---465 Connection security:---SSL/TLS Authentication method:---OAuth2 User Name:---rmattern@telus.net

A suggestion: go to tools>settings>privacy&security. Locate the password entries for the account, both incoming and outgoing. Delete both rows completely. This may trigger a fresh authentication from Gmail, as it generally is active when there is no password. See how that goes.

I'm confused. You can access emails, but not log in? This URL may help: https://www.telus.com/en/support/article/set-up-telus-email-first-time
