Since I upgraded to 7.01 (linux xubuntu) firefox seems to crash but only when on pages that have something to do with Flash. I purged flash and reinstalled and this seemed to fix it, but it's happening again now. Is there something I can do to fix this?

I have Linux Xubuntu. I had 11.04, but upgraded to 11.10.bold text I never had a problem with firefox until I upgraded to firefox 7. I've always made changes to about:config, and have gone through my changes and none are related to this. I've just checked about:crashes and I've had 34 crashes since upgrading on 11.10.11 I seemed to fix it on the 13th, as it didn't crash until the 17th, and this was done through purging flash, and then reinstalling the necessary packages.

I fixed this problem by turning off hardware acceleration. At the time I also downgraded my flash to 10 (instead of 11). This option isn't available any more. But turning off hardware acceleration has seemed to fix it.

Is it possible to uninstall firefox 7, and install firefox 6 while keeping settings, addons etc?

I also have this problem, but I think I solved it by removing AdBlock Plus. I also thought it was Flash.

You wouldn't have an AMD video card by any chance, would you?
