I run large mail programs sending many mails at a time. Typically there will be 2,000 emails waiting to go out in the Local Folders Outbox. There have been updates from Thunderbird, etc. My Thunderbird recently crashed and now when I click on Send Unsent Messages, instead of sending every message, it only sends the first one and then stops working all together. So I have 2,000 emails in the queue, it sends one, I have 1,999 and it stops. I repeat the process, it sends 1 and I have 1,998 left.

I tried to fix this.

(1) I compacted the folders in case there was a memory problem, though I used Thunderbird only as a client on that machine without any saved messages. Didn't work

(2) I rebooted my machine. Didn't work

(3) I cleared the cache memory. Didn't work

(4) I Uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird. Didn't work.

(5) I tried resetting settings in the config file. Didn't work.

I am wondering if the issue is parameter in the config file and somehow it was reset from send all to send one in the unsent queue. Please help, this is not a simple problem but maybe there is a simple answer in the config file.

Sounds to me like an anti virus issue.

Restart the operating system in safe mode with Networking. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX

If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.
